Our
Mission

Fun With A Purpose

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Clinch Valley is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring responsible citizens.

The vision of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Clinch Valley is to provide a safe place to learn and grow, through ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals, life enhancing programs and character developing experiences that offer hope and opportunity.

About Us

Our organization started in 1958 when the Oak Ridge Boys Club first opened its doors. In 2008, our programming expanded to serve girls as well and we officially changed our name to Boys & Girls Club of Oak Ridge. In 2014 the organization grew further still, to open a second campus, and the Boys & Girls Club of Roane County was started in the former Harriman Middle School gym. That is when the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Clinch Valley(BGCCV) was formed as the organizational umbrella of both, the Oak Ridge and Roane County Clubs.

Together, both Clubs serve nearly 1,200 youth in the Clinch Valley area each year. Youth 5-18 years of age can become Club members with a small annual fee and minimal weekly fees, offered on a sliding scale to provide equal opportunity to all. Programming is offered after school, during summer and on select holiday breaks. The Oak Ridge Club still offers its long tradition of athletic programming. The Clubs give youth the opportunity to make new friends, and through their diversified social, athletic, craft, and educational programs give them chance to learn skills for work and play. Most importantly learning to become confident leaders with GREAT FUTURES.

In order to keep our fees minimal, we rely on support from United Way, state, federal and corporate grants, foundations, events and fundraisers and generous individual gifts. We utilize community partnerships and actively engage and recruit new community volunteers to help support and advocate for our programs. We need YOU!
